An armed clash with a group of armed men in Taftan district in southeastern Iran's border province of Sistan-Baluchestan left 10 policemen and soldiers dead, Mehr reported.

It is noted that a police patrol was attacked by unknown gunmen, leading to fierce fighting and numerous casualties among the patrol members. According to initial reports, both soldiers and law enforcement personnel were targeted in the attack.

The Sistan and Baluchestan Police issued a statement confirming the incident.
