Armenia will spend 664.7 billion drams in 2025 to ensure its defense capacity. Minister of Finance Vahe Hovhannisyan announced this during Monday’s debates on the 2025 state budget bill at the joint meeting of the standing committees of the National Assembly.

According to Hovhannisyan, 55.8 percent of Armenia's capital expenditures will be directed to the country's defense sector.

"Expenses in this regard will amount to 664.7 billion drams, which is 20 percent more than the 2024 indicators," the minister noted.

As a result, Armenia's defense spending next year will amount to 6 percent of the country’s GDP.

"That is, it is 0.7 percent more compared to 2024. It is the most significant part of our budget because all our power is concentrated here," added Hovhannisyan.

Thus, as he noted, the authorities of Armenia are investing the existing potential in the development of the country’s defense.
