Arnold Schwarzenegger, who became governor of California as a Republican, criticized both major US political parties, Bild reports.

“I'll be honest with you: Right now I don't like either party. My Republicans have forgotten the charms of the free market, run up deficits and reject election results. Democrats aren't doing any better on the deficit, and I worry that their local politics are hurting our cities by increasing crime,” he wrote.

Nevertheless, ahead of the presidential election, Schwarzenegger is leaning in favor of Democrats because he has nothing good to say about Trump: “A candidate who doesn't respect your vote unless it's for him; a candidate who sends his supporters to storm the Capitol while he himself watches from a Diet Coke; a candidate who has shown no ability to implement any policies other than tax cuts that help his donors and other rich people like me, but no one else; a candidate who considers Americans who disagree with him to be bigger enemies than China, Russia or North Korea - he's not going to solve our problems.”

Schwarzenegger believes the U.S. can only “move forward as a country” with Kamala Harris and Tim Walz, even if he “disagrees with their program.” In his view, the good of the United States takes precedence over party affiliation.
