A military training aircraft crashed over central Binh Dinh Province of Vietnam Wednesday morning, and its two pilots have been reported to be safe, VnExpress reports.

The incident occurred around 10:30am during a training exercise involving a Yak-130 jet, which was being operated by two pilots, the Vietnamese Ministry of National Defense said.

The crew, Colonel Nguyen Van Son and Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Hong Quan, were making a training flight.

When returning to the base after completing their mission, the pilots had noticed that the landing gear did not open. Having informed the command of the regiment, the crew received permission to eject.

Currently, a search and rescue operation is being carried out in Binh Dinh Province to determine the location of the crashed plane and to find the two pilots.
