Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan sent a congratulatory message to Donald Trump on his election as the 47th President of the United States, the PM’s office informs.

In the congratulatory message, it is said that the relations between Armenia and the US, which are anchored on the historical friendship, shared values and mutual interests of both countries, have registered an unprecedented progress during the past years, and the American Armenian community also has a role in that process.

Pashinyan highly appreciated the effective cooperation between both countries in establishing peace and stability in the South Caucasus based on the fundamental principles of sovereignty and territorial integrity, strengthening democratic institutions in Armenia, protecting human rights and ensuring the rule of law, fighting corruption, and preventing security threats.

As per the Armenian PM, the development of Armenia-US cooperation in trade, economy and investment, as well as the full use of the existing considerable potential, occupies a special place in their multi-layered agenda. In this connection, Pashinyan underscored the joint efforts aimed at promoting Armenia's economic and energy resilience. Also, he expressed a conviction that during Trump’s presidency, Armenia-US relations will be further strengthened, and they will continue to record new achievements, realizing their vision of reaching the level of strategic partnership.

The Armenian premier expressed a hope that new opportunities will be provided in the relations between Armenia and the US, especially in the case of establishment of lasting and stable peace in the South Caucasus, unblocking of regional economic and communication channels, regarding which the proposals of the Armenian government are completed in its Crossroads of Peace project.
