Ursula von der Leyen, the President of the European Commission, had a phone call with US President-elect Donald Trump, particularly about the defense of Ukraine, von der Leyen informed on X.
The European Commission chief said she is "Looking forward to strengthening EU-US ties and working jointly to address geopolitical challenges."
"We discussed defence and Ukraine, trade and energy. Together, we can foster prosperity and stability on both sides of the Atlantic," von der Leyen added.
