We do not have a decision yet, when there is a decision, we will inform in a proper way whether we are participating in COP29 or not, there is a final decision to participate or not, and at what level to participate. Deputy Foreign Minister Vahan Kostanyan announced this to reporters at the National Assembly of Armenia Monday. Kostanyan noted this in connection with the COP29 climate conference which is getting underway in Baku, the capital of Azerbaijan.

He emphasized that Armenia’s attendance or non-attendance to this event depends on the dynamics of the process, and at this particular moment they have not identified a specific problem.

"At the moment, everything about the developments taking place around the general settlement process is transparent, and we do not see the need for additional comments," said Kostanyan.

According to the Armenian deputy FM, the statements and calls by the European MPs about the release of the Armenian captives in Azerbaijan show that addressing the matter of these captives is very important.

"We also are working in that direction so that all Armenian prisoners of war and other detained persons [in Azerbaijan] eventually return to Armenia," Kostanyan added.

And the question whether there were discussions with Baku, specifically in the context of COP29, regarding captives and some other issues, Vahan Kostanyan responded: "It needs to be judged from the overall negotiation dynamics. Naturally, there are channels through which contacts take place [between Armenia and Azerbaijan]."
