Russian President Vladimir Putin had a telephone conversation with his Azerbaijani counterpart Ilham Aliyev, during which the two heads of states confirmed their interest in cooperation between Moscow and Baku, the Kremlin informed on Telegram.

Putin and Aliyev discussed the practical implementation of a number of mutually beneficial projects in industrial cooperation and transport, and noted their mutual interest in the further development of their strategic partnership and alliance.

"Mutual interest in Russian-Azerbaijani strategic partnership and further all-round development of the alliance was confirmed. An agreement was reached to continue contacts at various levels," the Kremlin added.
