YEREVAN. – On late Friday night, an Armenian capital Yerevan court sentenced president Narek Hartunyan of Narekatsi Art Union to close to two months in prison.
And thus the court ruled in favor of the State Revenue Committee’s (SRC) petition. As SRC informed, Narek Hartunyan headed the G. H. Storage Enterprise Company, and he evaded paying large amount of taxes to the state budget.
Also, charges are filed against the Company’s Assistant Manager, Ani Mnatsakanyan, and accountant Artur Galstyan. According to SRC, damage worth around 109 million drams (US$ 284,150) was caused to the state.
As Armenian News-NEWS.am informed earlier, Narek Hartunyan was detained by two SRC agents on Friday, Hartunyan himself had told Armenian News-NEWS.am. “Currently, I am at the Investigation Department of the Committee. I was detained on false testimonies. They aim to apply pressure,” Hartunyan said, adding he can add nothing more.
