Washington and its allies want to create chaos in the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) and turn the Commonwealth area into a cheap resource base, said Alexander Bortnikov, Director of the Federal Security Service (FSB) of Russia, RIA Novosti reports.

"The US and its allies do not hesitate to resort to the most unpleasant methods to fulfill their geopolitical ambitions. In our case, it is turning the Commonwealth into chaos and a cheap resource base," Bortnikov said at the Moscow meeting of the heads of the security and intelligence services of the CIS countries.

To note, Armenia also is a member in the Commonwealth of Independent States.
