Washington has started supporting the pro-Western parties of Armenia in order to help them enter the country’s parliament in the 2026 election. This is noted in a statement by the press office of the Foreign Intelligence Service of Russia.

"These ‘unyielding believers of democracy’ are proposed to ‘hit the hands of the executive power of Armenia’ if the latter, following the example of the government of neighboring Georgia, intends to give priority to the objective national interests, traditions, and values of the Armenian people," added the aforesaid statement.
