Russian President Vladimir Putin has invited the leaders of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) countries and the heads of the troops of the unification countries to Moscow to participate in the military parade on the Red Square on May 9, RIA Novosti reports.

"It is very important that we remember the victory of the Soviet people in the Great Patriotic War [in World War II], the anniversary, the 80th anniversary of that victory... I hope that you will find time for this solemn event in Moscow on May 9. In addition, we invite the troops of the CSTO countries to participate in the military parade together with the Russian military," Putin said to the leaders of the CSTO member countries.

The Russian president added that events dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the aforesaid victory will be held "at the highest state level" in all CSTO countries.

To note, Armenia has frozen its membership in the CSTO.
