According to Milliyet, Prof. Tuncay Dilci said during the presentation of this project that many countries have banned smart phones for children under the age of 13 and suggested that a similar rule be introduced in Turkey.

The experience of a number of countries was cited as examples of children's use of social media.

Thus, in some states of the USA the law prohibiting the use of social media for persons under 14 years of age will come into force from 2025.

In China, opening a social media account for persons under 16 depends on parental permission. Access to mobile devices and the Internet between 22:00 and 06:00 is prohibited.

In France, access to social media for those under 15 depends on parental permission.

In South Korea, online gaming is prohibited for children under 16 from 00:00 to 06:00.

In the United Kingdom and Russia, opening accounts on online platforms for persons under 13 years of age is restricted.

In Italy, owning a cell phone for persons under 14 years of age and opening a social media profile for persons under 16 years of age is prohibited.
