We are not against the diversification of Armenia's economy, the use of its competitive advantages, but we assume that this should not be done to the detriment of the already established Armenian-Russian ties, and even more so—not for the sake of the implementation of amorphous and politicized ideas of a number of Western countries because these ideas are combined only with the deterioration of the socioeconomic condition of the citizens of Armenia. Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Galuzin stated this during the Second Russia-Armenia Public Forum in Moscow Friday.

"We [i.e. Russia] sincerely value our relations with Armenia and its people. We always try to treat the Russian-Armenian alliance with great care.

The ties between our [two] countries are based on centuries-old traditions of friendship, shared history, culture and value systems, as well as many material foundations and projects.

Moscow has been and remains committed to the entire range of agreements—both at the bilateral level and within the framework of associations in the Eurasian area. We do not abandon our obligations to our allies, including in the military-political sphere.

We have been working together for years to shape the security architecture in the South Caucasus. Russia's role in this task has always been and will be in demand, especially considering the dynamic situation in the region and around the world. We are ready for a sincere, substantive conversation with Yerevan on this current topic.

Despite the well-known problematic issues, the rhythmic, multifaceted dialogue between Russia and Armenia continues. We expect effective contacts between our leaders within the framework of the CIS events to be held in Moscow in December.

Trade and economic cooperation [between Armenia and Russia] is actively developing, the trade has reached an unprecedented level; it’s about 14 to 16 billion [US] dollars. The result is many useful projects in the cultural and humanitarian sphere. It is important to maintain and increase these positive trends.

The close coordination of our [two] countries, including within the framework of the Eurasian Economic Union [(EAEU)], is the guarantee of the well-being of the Armenian population. We highly value the results of Armenia's chairmanship in the EAEU bodies in 2024. Russia remains the guarantor of ensuring the economic, food, and energy security of the [Armenian] republic," added the Russian deputy FM.
