As of November 28, 2024, almost 4,400 former residents of Nagorno-Karabakh have received Armenian citizenship. Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs of Armenia, Armen Ghazaryan, announced this during the parliamentary debates Friday on the acquisition of Armenian citizenship by those Armenians who were forcibly displaced from Nagorno-Karabakh.

Also, according to the data of the aforesaid period, the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Armenia has received 6,338 applications for Armenian citizenship.

"4,394 people forcibly displaced from Nagorno-Karabakh have already received [Armenian] citizenship," said Ghazaryan.

In this case, however, minors are not taken into account. As the deputy minister noted, they become Armenian nationals after being issued an Armenian passport—that is, of course, if their parents are Armenian citizens.
