The current events in Georgia are reminiscent of the Maidan in the capital of Ukraine, Kiev, in 2013, said Dmitry Peskov, press secretary of the Russian President, and noted that Moscow does not interfere in these processes in any way.

"The attempt to shake the situation is obvious. We have seen similar events in several countries. The most direct parallel that can be drawn is the events of Maidan in Ukraine. There are all the signs of an attempt to implement the Orange Revolution," said the Russian presidential press secretary.

He emphasized that what is happening in Georgia is the internal matter of the country. According to Peskov, Georgian authorities are making efforts for stabilization and "return of calm."

When asked about the alleged participation of Russian citizens in the demonstrations in Georgia, particularly their arrests for attacks on Georgian law enforcement officers, the Russian presidential press secretary responded: "We have no information about who those people are."

Peskov noted that the Russian diplomatic mission in Georgia will provide contact and find out the circumstances of the aforesaid case in order to find out what charges are brought against them.
