Armenia may have a debt along the lines of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) investments and not pay it for two years. Now there are debts for 2024, the term will expire at the end of 2025. Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Aleksandr Pankin told this to RIA Novosti on the sidelines of the XVII Verona Eurasian Economic Forum.

"Armenia may not pay this debt for two years. Then appropriate decisions will be made," Pankin warned.

Armenia currently has a debt to the CSTO for 2024, the Russian diplomat noted.

According to him, "in reality, Armenia's debt is not a supernatural thing."

"Any CSTO member can accumulate debt. There were cases when other countries were in debt," explained the Russian deputy FM.

In February, Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan had announced that Armenia was suspending its participation in the CSTO. Also, Armenia has stopped its contribution to the budget of this organization and sending representatives to CSTO events and military exercises.
