The Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) of Iran has called on Ukraine to stop supporting terrorist groups in Syria, and called Kyiv's such actions a clear violation of international obligations to fight terrorism. This was noted in a statement by the Iranian MFA that was posted on the Telegram account of the Iranian government.

"The [Iranian foreign] minister's assistant and director general of the [Foreign Ministry's] Eurasia department, Mojtaba Demirchiloo, pointing to some information about the illegal arms trade by some Ukrainian officials (...) and about this country [i.e. Ukraine]'s support to terrorist groups in Syria, has called these actions a clear violation of countries' international obligations to prevent and combat terrorism, and demanded an immediate end to them," the statement reads.

Ukraine's actions aimed at destabilizing the Middle East go against all international principles and are an "immoral policy," stressed the assistant of the Iranian foreign minister.

"Experience shows that an alliance with terrorism always threatens global security and contributes to the spread of violence in the world," Demirchiloo added.
