Iranian President Massoud Pezeshkian has unveiled plans to increase clean energy production to address the imbalance in fossil fuel production and consumption, Tasnim reports.

Pezeshkian reportedly held a meeting on Friday on energy management solutions and measures to combat air pollution as energy consumption across the country has increased in recent weeks during the cold season. The Iranian president was briefed on the latest status of energy production and supply, energy management solutions and measures to curb air pollution. Pezeshkian emphasized several issues, including the need for energy conservation as well as ensuring supplies during the cold season, according to his official website. He also urged officials to ensure that both the manufacturing sector and households have the energy they need.

The Iranian president also said that clean energy production plans are on the agenda to address the existing imbalances.
