Blackmail and attempts to hinder Russia will never achieve anything, Russian President Vladimir Putin said, speaking at the United Russia congress, RIA Novosti reports.

The XXII congress of the United Russia party is being held at the Rossiya National Center on Saturday. It will adopt changes to the people's program and the party's charter, as well as rotate the top and general councils of the United Russia Party, the media outlet said.

“Russia is developing, the economy is growing. And this is against the background of unprecedented in the full sense of the word, literally, in the world history of sanctions, rude interference and pressure from the ruling elites of some states. But no blackmail, no attempts from outside to hinder us from doing anything,” Putin said.
