Toyota Motor Corporation is returning the Urban Cruiser name to the European market, Drom.ru reports. Under it, starting next year, the company will offer the Suzuki e Vitara electric crossovers with its own logos and an original front design in the modern Toyota style, with headlights in the shape of a lobster claw or boomerang.

The Toyota Urban Cruiser will be offered in two engine options: front-wheel drive and four-wheel drive. Also, it will be offered in three power options: 144 hp, 174 hp (front-wheel drive), and 184 hp (all-wheel drive). There will be two batteries to choose from: the smaller 49kWh is available with front-wheel drive only, while the larger 61kWh is available with both front- and all-wheel drive.

Despite its small dimensions, with a length of just 4.27 meters, this electric vehicle promises spaciousness in the back row thanks to the large wheelbase of 2.7 meters, the ability to change the position of the seats in the longitudinal direction, and the possibility to change the angle of the backrest.

The interior of the Toyota Urban Cruiser is no different from the Suzuki e Vitara. The finish is simple, and the layout of the controls is traditional for modern crossovers of Asian brands: two information screens of the right shape, approximately equal in size, under the common screen, a raised floating panel between the front seats—with a platform for a mobile phone under it. But here they are not trying to sell "match savings" under the guise of avant-garde style, as in the same Tesla. Instead, it's a fully functional design; everything seems to be there, and there are plenty of physical keys and controls.

The Toyota Urban Cruiser will go on sale in Europe in the first half of next year.
