Russian President Vladimir Putin will leave for Saint Petersburg, Russia where he will meet with the leaders of the other CIS countries in the next few days. The multilateral program is expected mainly on Wednesday and Thursday, TASS reports.

"On December 26, in Igora, our president will participate in the meeting of the Supreme Eurasian Economic Council [(EAEC)], which will take place under the chairmanship of the Prime Minister of Armenia, [Nikol] Pashinyan. This year, Armenia chairs the EAEC. The presidents of Belarus, Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan, as well as the observer countries—Uzbekistan and Cuba—, will also participate in the event," said Russian presidential aide Yuri Ushakov.

The heads of the CIS countries will gather together Wednesday. The informal New Year's meeting is a perennial tradition, and this year is no exception.

According to the program, Putin will sum up the results of the Russian chairmanship in the CIS in 2024 at the summit.
