Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has announced that he is closely following the course of peace talks between Armenia and Azerbaijan. Erdogan stated this in a telephone conversation with Azerbaijani president Ilham Aliyev.

The two leaders discussed the situation in the South Caucasus, Armenian-Azerbaijani settlement, and the development of Turkish-Azerbaijani relations, Turkish media report.

According to Erdogan, Turkey expects that peace will bring stability and prosperity to the South Caucasus.
