Police are investigating a Christmas Day shooting at Sky Harbor Airport in the U.S. city of Phoenix that left three people with gunshot wounds and another person stabbed, the Associated Press reported.

Phoenix police said the shooting happened in the evening around 9:45 p.m. local time at an airport restaurant outside the security checkpoint at Terminal 4.

An adult woman and two adult men suffered gunshot wounds, with the woman's injuries being considered life-threatening by police. The two men are in stable condition and are expected to survive, police said in a statement. The condition of a man hospitalized with at least one stab wound is also stable.

A man and a girl were detained after the shooting in an airport parking lot nearby. Police have not released information about possible charges.

The shooting led to the temporary closure of the Terminal A checkpoint, the closure of some restaurants and the suspension of service at the PHX Sky train station in the terminal.
