At least 10 people have died so far in the wildfires in Los Angeles County, USA, according to the county’s Department of Medical Examiner, CNN reports.
Earlier, eight casualties were reported.
The department has received notification of 10 fire-related deaths as of Thursday evening, the statement says.
Los Angeles County has issued a mandatory evacuation order for tens of thousands of residents.
The county's fire chief acknowledged that their resources are limited to fighting one or two major fires.
Complicating matters were high winds that temporarily halted air travel, and fire hydrants in the Pacific Palisades area were down.
