There were two areas in Glendale yesterday where we had evacuated people; this morning we already announced that everyone can return home, and they did. Elen Asatryan, the Mayor of Glendale, California, USA, stated this in an interview with Armenian News-NEWS.am—and regarding the ongoing wildfires near the area.

"At 12 o'clock, the doors of the support center were also closed because there is no need for it at the moment," added Asatryan.

According to her, although there were no wildfires in densely-Armenian-populated Glendale itself, people were evacuated from the neighborhoods close to the wildfires. Yesterday there were 100 people in the support center, but today they all returned to their homes.

"It has been announced that the wind may increase again in the coming days, there is a risk of the fire spreading, I hope that the firefighters will be able to extinguish the fire before then," said the mayor of Glendale.

As per Asatryan, although there are no wildfires in Glendale, the air is polluted, and it is still very difficult to leave the houses.
