Goddess Anahit points to the deep civilizational relation between Iran and Armenia, the embassy of Iran in Armenia noted on X.
“The common history of Iran and Armenia always points to the deep friendship between the two countries. Anahit in Armenian mythology is a symbol of fertility and the best values and is considered as one of the most important goddesses of Navasard.
“The root of the word ‘navasard’ is composed of the Avestan word - nava ‘new’ and sareoa ‘year’ and in Armenian language it means ‘new year’. Armenians celebrate this festival before the last five days of the year and promise the beginning of the new year. Anahit is one of the most important Goddesses of Navasard and old Armenia,” added the Iranian embassy in Armenia.
