The California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection, known as Cal Fire, said 95% of wildfires in California are caused by people, and meanwhile investigators are trying to determine what caused the wildfires that are still blazing across Los Angeles, CNN reports.

“But they're not all arson. It could be accidental,” said CAL Fire Battalion Chief David Acuña.

Human-caused fires include fires that get out of control, such as campfires, fires started unintentionally, such as from a dropped cigarette butt, and fires caused by the generation, transmission and distribution of electricity or the use of equipment and vehicles in addition to arson, the National Interagency Fire Center said.
