The "trial" of the former leaders of Nagorno Karabakh and several other Armenians held captive is getting underway in Baku, the capital of Azerbaijan.

Formally, all the prisoners are accused of "war crimes," but essentially—for the desire of the Armenian people of Nagorno Karabakh to be free, independent, and decide their own destiny, which corresponds to all the norms of democratic countries.

There are 15 accused, including former presidents of Nagorno Karabakh Arkadi Ghukasyan, Bako Sahakyan and Arayik Harutyunyan, former state minister Ruben Vardanyan, former foreign minister David Babayan, former parliament speaker Davit Ishkhanyan, former defense minister Levon Mnatsakanyan, and former deputy defense minister Davit Manukyan, as well as Garik Martirosyan, Melikset Pashayan, Davit Allahverdyan, Gurgen Stepanyan, Levon Balayan, Madat Babayan, Vasili Beglaryan, and Erik Ghazaryan.
