German Chancellor Olaf Scholz could not catch up with the country's Foreign Minister Annalena Baerbock, who left the government meeting during which Scholz blocked a new aid package for Ukraine, the German edition of Bild has said.

According to media reports, the reason for the spat between Baerbock and Scholz was the 3 billion euro aid package, which German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius also insisted on accepting.

 Berbock publicly criticized the chancellor's veto.

It is reported that Baerbock and Pistorius had been putting together the package for months. In early November, Scholz himself accused the leader of the Free Democratic Party of Germany (FDP), Finance Minister Christopher Lindner, of blocking badly needed funds for Ukraine, but this time he blocked the package himself.
