Armenia is located at a unique crossroads which can make a significant contribution to the development of communications and increasing the logistical appeal of the region. Armenian foreign minister Ararat Mirzoyan on Tuesday stated this at a joint press conference with his Russian counterpart, Sergey Lavrov, in Moscow.

According to Mirzoyan, this visit was prepared for almost three months and was postponed due to technical reasons.

"Today's meeting was held in a sincere, constructive atmosphere, a wide range of issues, bilateral cooperation, and the topic of peace in the South Caucasus were discussed," the Armenian FM noted.

In the context of Armenian-Russian bilateral relations, the importance of maintaining dialogue and maintaining a positive trend in the development of this dialogue was noted at all levels, including the ministry of foreign affairs and in various industrial sectors. Among the matters discussed were ways to create a more favorable atmosphere in the media.

Regarding the economy, the Armenian FM noted that the numbers speak for themselves.

"For Armenia, trade and economic cooperation within the EAEU is one of the factors of economic growth and realization of foreign trade potential," Mirzoyan noted, adding that Iran received observer status in the EAEU during Armenia's chairmanship in this organization.

The FM reminded that Armenia is located at a unique crossroads which can make a significant contribution to the development of communications and increasing the logistical appeal of the region. And that is what the Crossroads of Peace project by Armenia is aimed at—but of course, based on the principle of sovereignty, jurisdiction, and reciprocity.

Mirzoyan recalled that this project received a positive response from a number of international organizations and countries, including Russia.

Establishment of peace and stability in the South Caucasus was discussed as well at the meeting. And according to the FM, despite all the difficulties and challenges, Armenia is making sincere efforts to achieve a long-term and stable peace that meets the interests of all countries in the region.
