An armed attack was carried out on the morning of January 22 at the Armenian private school “Tatyan” located in the Bakırköy district of Istanbul. According to Akunq.net, as a result of the armed attack, the windows of the Armenian school were broken and bullet holes were visible on the walls. As a result of a search in the house of one of the arrested suspects, illegal firearms were found.

Meanwhile, the police, after reviewing surveillance footage, determined that one of the two suspects had opened fire at the Armenian school while the other was collecting empty shell casings. The police, noticing that the suspects were sheltering in a hideout, took action and launched an operation against them. Suspects Sh.K. and Y.Ç have been arrested.

According to the Istanbul Security Directorate's explanations on the matter, the suspects were found to have committed various crimes in the past. A pistol and 14 rounds of ammunition were found in their homes. One of the suspects, Y.Ç., was released after interrogation and his case was sent to the relevant justice authorities. As for the other suspect, Sh. K. was referred to court on charges of “property damage,” “willfully endangering public safety,” and other charges.
