President Donald Trump signed an executive order on Thursday aimed at strengthening the United States’ position in digital financial technology and transforming the country into the “crypto capital of the planet,” according to a statement posted on the White House website.
“President Donald J. Trump signed an Executive Order to establish regulatory clarity for digital financial technology and secure America’s position as the world’s leader in the digital asset economy, driving innovation and economic opportunity for all Americans,” the statement reads, in part.
It is emphasized that Trump is fulfilling his promise to make the US the “crypto capital of the planet.”
“Executive Order establishes the Presidential Working Group on Digital Asset Markets to strengthen U.S. leadership in digital finance,” added the statement.
