It will be difficult for Armenia without cooperation within the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) and the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS), the latter’s secretary general, Sergey Lebedev, told RIA Novosti.

“The reality is this. It will be difficult for Armenia without cooperation within the CIS countries, without cooperation within the EAEU and CIS. And why additional complications and difficulties for the people of Armenia? The CIS countries and Belarus, as far as I know, are ready to help Armenia maintain this interaction,” Lebedev noted.

Speaking about the recently signed charter on strategic partnership between Armenia and the US and Yerevan’s plans to join the European Union, the CIS Secretary General noted that many documents are signed, but then they are not implemented.

“Many documents are signed, but not all of them are implemented. Then life makes its adjustments,” Lebedev said.
