A passenger plane caught fire at Busan International Airport in the southeastern city of Busan, injuring three people during evacuation, Yonhap reported.

Fire officials said the Air Busan plane, bound for Hong Kong from Busan's Gimhae International Airport in Busan, about 320 kilometers southeast of Seoul, had its tail catch fire before takeoff around 10:26 a.m. local time Tuesday.

They added that all 169 passengers and seven crew members on board were evacuated using an inflatable slide.

Firefighters arrived on the scene at 10:34 a.m. Although no one was initially injured, firefighters later reported that three people suffered non-life threatening injuries during the evacuation.

Although the fire started in the tail section of the plane, it appears to have spread to the fuselage of the aircraft.

A fire department spokesperson said the fire apparently started in the tail section of the airplane.
