Armenia considers simplification of procedures possible after the unblocking of regional communications. This view was expressed by Armenian foreign minister Ararat Mirzoyan at a joint press conference with his visiting Georgian colleague, Maka Botchorishvili, in Yerevan Thursday.
“There is nothing new, Armenia’s position is known. We support the idea of unblocking of communications in the region,” the Armenian FM noted.
Mirzoyan recalled that Armenia has submitted constructive proposals to Azerbaijan and is waiting for a response.
The Armenian foreign minister stated that the aforesaid unblocking will bring great economic and other benefits to the region, and the views of the Armenian side are reflected in its Crossroads of Peace project and are based on the principles of territorial integrity and countries’ sovereignty over communications.
The Armenian FM added that in the 21st century, all countries strive to simplify logistics. According to him, when communications are unblocked, Armenia will consider it possible to simplify procedures, from which everyone can benefit.
As reported earlier, the Azerbaijani president has demanded a non-overseen corridor for his country through the territory of Armenia.
