Georgia is committed to stability and peace in the region. This was stated by visiting Georgian foreign minister Maka Botchorishvili at a joint press conference with her Armenian colleague, Ararat Mirzoyan, in Yerevan Thursday.

According to Botchorishvili, Georgia’s sincere wish and readiness is to do everything possible to achieve this goal, in order to be sure that the region is peaceful, stable, and prosperous.

The Georgian FM expressed a hope that a peace treaty between Armenia and Azerbaijan will be acceptable to both parties and will enable achieving peace and stability. Georgia, in turn, is ready to work together with its neighbors in this regard, she added.

Also, the Georgian foreign minister stated that “when we talk about security challenges in the region, we should mention the challenges that arise from Russia, which has occupied the regions of Georgia.”

Armenia and Georgia support each other's sovereignty and territorial integrity, the Georgian FM stressed. She welcomed Armenia's deepening relations with the EU and the US, noting that this will benefit the region, and Georgia is happy to see its neighbors' successful relations with other partners.
