Azerbaijan says, “If there will be no transit through the territory of Armenia, we will go through the territory of Iran.” And we say, “We are also ready to offer that transit under the same conditions that Iran offers.” Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan stated this during his press conference Friday—and referring to the fact that, according to the Azerbaijani president, unhindered transit should be a passage without inspections.

“On the contrary. Since we [i.e. Armenia] also have an interest because we also want to use the roads, we are ready for certain simplifications also, especially if it’s about transit and not about circumventing international rules in general. (…). And we say that the jurisdiction of Armenia must work [in this transit road]. With what wording, we also propose that wording that takes into account also the perceptions of the other party,” he added.
