At least 54 people were killed and 158 wounded on Saturday in a strike by Sudan's paramilitary Rapid Reaction Force (RSF) on a market in the city of Omdurman, Reuters reported, citing the country's Health Ministry.
Sudan's Rapid Response Force denied in a statement that it had bombed the market and instead accused the Sudanese army of targeting civilians.
Both the army and Sudan's armed forces have hit densely populated areas in the war, which began in April 2023 over a conflict between the two forces that has left tens of thousands dead, millions displaced and half the country's population suffering from famine.
