On February 3, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov held a traditional meeting with the ambassadors of the CIS member states accredited in Russia in Moscow. Secretary General of the Commonwealth Sergei Lebedev also took part in it.
According to the Russian Foreign Ministry, the event summarized the results of cooperation in the CIS format in 2024 under the Russian chairmanship.
The key tasks for 2025 - the Year of the 80th Anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War, the Year of Peace and Unity in the Fight against Nazism - were outlined with a focus on further strengthening of foreign policy coordination, building up cooperation in trade, economic, cultural and humanitarian spheres, as well as in the field of security.
The participants of the meeting exchanged views on topical global and regional topics, including in the context of the implementation of Putin's initiative on the formation of a new architecture of equal and indivisible security in Eurasia.
