Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian once again emphasized Iran's policy of opposing any changes of geographical borders in the Caucasus region and interference of foreign forces in the region. Pezeshkian made the statement in a meeting with Azerbaijani Presidential Aide Hikmet Hajiyev, Mehr reports.

Pezeshkian emphasized Iran's interest in strengthening bilateral relations. “We also emphasize the need to remove barriers in trade and transportation as soon as possible and welcome the exchange of experience between the two countries,” he said.

“Changing the region's borders is unacceptable under any circumstances. Attempts by powers outside the region require strengthening unity among countries in the region and avoiding differences.

We want to develop relations with neighboring and Islamic countries because we believe that any disagreement or quarrel among Muslims will lead to the intervention of enemies,” the Iranian president stressed.

Pezeshkian also expressed hope for Aliyev's visit to Tehran.
