Iran has always supported the growth and strengthening of Armenia, and the relations between the two countries have gradually reached the necessary level of maturity. This was stated by Iranian ambassador to Armenia Mehdi Sobhani, during a press conference Thursday.

“Today, there is mutual understanding in our bilateral relations, and the ‘sapling’ of relations has turned into a ‘strong tree.’ Iran considers it its commitment to establishing lasting peace and stability in the region. Iran is categorically against changing of internationally recognized borders, geopolitical changes, and the use of force to resolve regional issues. Iran resolutely supports the territorial integrity of countries, especially Armenia. The creation of false narratives, threats, and suspicious videos cannot undermine the strong relations between the two countries, or sow division and suspicion between us,” the Iranian diplomat said.

According to him, brilliant results have been recorded between Armenia and Iran over the past year, as the construction of the Armenia-Kajaran motorway has been launched, the work on the third power transmission line is in its final phase, diplomatic exchange visits, mutual understanding, and mutual perception have not allowed “the enemy of relations to create doubts, misunderstandings.”

“We continue to be guided by that right path. The future of relations between the two countries is very clear and no one can divert it,” said the Iranian ambassador to Armenia, and added in Armenian: “Long live Armenia! Long live Iran!”
