Eight people were injured in a fire in the building of the former Electrozavod in the east of Moscow, according to operational services. Four of them were hospitalized, including in the Sklifosovsky Research Institute, their condition is not serious, the capital's health department said, Kommersant reports.

More than 90 people were rescued, 120 evacuated on their own. According to the Ministry of Emergency Situations, the fire has engulfed several floors of a 5-story building, more than 60 firefighters and 16 units of equipment are working on the site. Lifting mechanisms are used to evacuate people.

Children's creative studios are located on the upper floors. The fire is assigned the fourth number of complexity out of five, writes “RIA Novosti”.

As reported by eyewitnesses in social networks, the corridors of the building quickly covered with smoke, had to get out in semi-darkness.
