Armenian Deputy Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sports Artur Martirosyan attended the official opening of the Indian film festival being held in Yerevan within the framework of the 100th birth anniversary of renowned Indian actor and filmmaker Raj Kapoor.

Indian ambassador to Armenia Nilakshi Saha Sinha also attended the opening of this event, Armenian News-NEWS.am was informed by the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sports of Armenia.

Welcoming the attendees and highlighting the multilateral cooperation between Armenia and India, Artur Martirosyan noted that holding Indian cinema days in Armenia has already become a good tradition.

He expressed hope that the Indian film festival will also serve as a basis for deepening cooperation between filmmakers from the two countries and creating joint films.

Also, Martirosyan thanked the embassy of India in Armenia, in the person of Ambassador Nilakshi Saha Sinha, for this initiative, and reaffirmed the readiness by the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sports of Armenia to implement joint projects in various domains.

A photo exhibition dedicated to Raj Kapoor was also held within the framework of this Indian film festival.
