The Margara checkpoint on Armenia’s border with Turkey will open soon, an informed diplomatic source has told Armenian News-NEWS.am. According to the source, the opening of this checkpoint is scheduled for March 1.
Also, this checkpoint expected to be guarded by the forces of the National Security Service of Armenia. Currently, the Russian Federal Security Service (FSB) directorate in Armenia is conducting surveillance along the entire perimeter of the Armenian-Turkish border. It was previously reported that the Armenian side spent more than 1 billion drams on the renovation of the aforementioned checkpoint.
