French President Emmanuel Macron has reaffirmed France's determination to support Armenia's territorial integrity and sovereignty. This is stated in a press release from the Elysee Palace, which was distributed after Macron's meeting with visiting Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan.

"The President of the [French] Republic met with the Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan within the framework of the Artificial Intelligence Action Summit, which took place this Monday, February 10, 2025, at the Elysee Palace.

The [French] Head of State first thanked the Prime Minister of Armenia for participating in the Artificial Intelligence Action Summit, which demonstrates the convergence of views between Armenia and the EU on innovation and new technologies. The leaders of the two countries agreed to continue the development of cooperation projects between France and Armenia, especially in the fields of energy, defense, and transport.

The leaders of the two countries then discussed the situation in the region [of Armenia]. The [French] Head of State confirmed France’s full support for the normalization of relations between Armenia and Azerbaijan, as well as for the signing of a peace treaty in accordance with international law. Also, he confirmed France’s determination to support the territorial integrity and sovereignty of Armenia, as well as the aspirations of the Armenian people for peace, security, and democracy. The President of the [French] Republic and the Prime Minister of Armenia discussed the preparations for COP17 on biodiversity, which Armenia will host in 2026. The [French] Head of State noted that France is fully ready to provide Armenia with the necessary assistance in preparing for COP17,” the Elysee Palace said in a statement.
