Georgia may participate in the “Three Plus Three” format on key issues in the South Caucasus in the future if certain circumstances are created for this. Giorgi Volski, the First Deputy Speaker of the Parliament of Georgia, informed about this to reporters.

“Something is possible in the future. But at this phase nothing is foreseen that would justify our participation in this format in political or economic terms. So, let's wait for the processes,” Volski said.

He added that Georgia needs to pursue the right policy in this matter.

“Unfortunately, Georgia does not have the resources that can influence the processes taking place in the world. But we have chosen the right policy and have maintained stability in our country to this day,” said the deputy speaker of the Georgian parliament.

The “Three Plus Three” format is a consultative cooperation format between the three countries of the South Caucasus (Armenia, Azerbaijan, and Georgia) and their three neighbors (Russia, Turkey, and Iran). This initiative for a six-party format of cooperation in the South Caucasus was put forward in late 2020 by the presidents of Azerbaijan and Turkey, Ilham Aliyev and Recep Tayyip Erdogan.
