Valentina Matvienko, Speaker of the Federation Council of Russia, will leave for Yerevan on an official visit. This was stated in a telephone conversation between the Federation Council speaker and the president the National Assembly of Armenia, Alen Simonyan, which took place at the initiative of the Armenian side, informed the press service of the upper chamber of the Russian parliament.

"The interlocutors also discussed the details of the upcoming official visit of the FC [i.e. the Federation Council] speaker to [Armenian  capital] Yerevan at the invitation of her Armenian counterpart, in the context of the need to give a new impetus to Russian-Armenian interstate relations," the press service of the Russian Federation Council noted in its statement.
