Fully supporting the demands underlying Ruben Vardanyan's hunger strike, from now on I am starting a hunger strike in Freedom Square as a request to Ruben to stop this hunger strike, which carries an irreversible threat to his life. Mane Tandilyan, the chairman of the Country for Life party, wrote about it on her Facebook page.

“Today is the 12th day since Ruben has been on hunger strike.

Each additional day of hunger strike leaves an irreversible mark on his health, creating a risk of irreparable loss of life.

It is hard to imagine what Ruben is going through, but one thing is clear and leaves no room for self-deception: this move by Ruben indicates that he has exhausted all of his remaining tools.

It is a move designed to draw the attention of the international community to the illegal procedural farce that is being carried out against Armenian prisoners held in Baku prisons. Ruben and our other prisoners are fighting for the dignity of Armenia and the Armenian people, for which they endure unimaginable hardships while remaining spiritually and morally stronger and more resilient than most.

I am ashamed just to realize that you are still in Baku prisons, and no amount of effort is working, at least not to the extent that you are not forced to resort to such extreme measures.

But I want you to know. Our homeland is waiting for you to come back to Armenia alive and healthy.

Fully supporting the demands underlying Ruben Vardanyan's hunger strike, from now on, I am starting a hunger strike in Freedom Square, asking Ruben to stop this hunger strike, which poses an irreversible threat to his life.

Ruben, worthy son of the Armenian people, your homeland needs you, and you are welcome here...,” she wrote.
