PARIS. – The protest action organized by the Turkish community in front of the French Parliament had a very bad impression on the French MPs, head of the European office of the ARF Armenian Judgment and political issues, Rhône-Alpes regional MP Hilda Tchoboian told Armenian News-NEWS.am correspondent.

According to her, Turkey will launch unprecedented pressures against France, such as calling back the Turkish Ambassador after the French Parliament adopted bill on penalizing denial of the Armenian Genocide.

Regarding the viewpoint published in the British Guardian newspaper that less time is left for the French presidential elections and the Senate will not manage to adopt the bill, Tchoboian said that time is really short but she believes that the Senate will adopt the bill as well.

The French Parliament adopted the bill penalizing denial of the Armenian Genocide on Thursday. The law, in case of violation, intends one year of imprisonment and a fine amounting to €45,000. To note, Turkey threatened France with serious consequences before the adoption up to calling Turkish Ambassador to France back and breaking trade relations.
